People
are fascinated by how log homes can be manufactured in
a factory. The answer is simple - very well!! As you can
see by the following photographs, it is an amazing process.
Modular log homes
are assembled in the same manner as traditional modular
homes. First a permanent foundation must be built prior
to the delivery of the home. You will receive blueprints
for this foundation once you order your home. The home
will arrive on a trailer pulled by an over-the-road tractor.
A crane will lift the home from the trailer and place
it on the foundation. Next the roof is raised or attached
(depending on model), temporarily drying the home in from
the weather. The carpenter then goes to work finishing
components not already attached and gets the home ready
for occupancy. Meanwhile, your plumber and electrician
will connect the utilities while your HVAC contractor
installs the heating and cooling system for the home.
If the home's plan has porches and decks, these items
will be completed as well. Depending on scheduling and
the complexity of the home, you can be ready to occupy
your home in a few days or weeks.
